This post is near and dear to my heart, and there's almost so much of a story to share here that I don't know where to begin. I met Taira and her husband Rob several years ago when I joined a local wedding vendor group called "The Wedding Shoppe". Taira and her husband own a local videography company and were heading up this group. She was so sweet and I just adored her from the start. Fast forward to a few months after I joined the group, Taira received devastating news. She was diagnosed with a rare form of stage 3 breast cancer. I cannot imagine being diagnosed at such a young age, nor can I imagine how hard it must be to try to battle cancer while being self employed, and having a house full of kids who need you.
After a double mastectomy, many chemo sessions and other treatments, Taira's cancer has now progressed to Stage 4 cancer and it has metastasized in her lungs. But she is fighting it with everything she has and she is winning. If you'd like to check out her entire story click HERE or see the Martina video she was featured in HERE.
Her husband Rob is one of the most amazing men I have ever met. He is
so good to her, supports her in every way possible, and urges her to go "natural" without a wig or
headpiece. He is such a great example for his daughters. Taira and Rob never had an actual wedding years ago when they got married, so Rob decided to surprise her with a wedding ceremony this coming March! He proposed to her all over again, and they are now planning a huge celebration to celebrate their marriage. Is that not the sweetest thing ever?
They came to see me last week for some save-the-date photos. I was completely FLOORED with how amazing Taira looks. You would never know she has cancer. She is radiant, in such good spirits, and just filled with love and admiration for her husband and family. She truly is a walking testament to having a strong faith and a joyful heart no matter what the circumstances. She is going to win this battle and prove all the doctors wrong and I can't wait to see her do it! Taira and Rob, it was my honor to do these photos for you. It was SO SO SO good to see you, and I hope you love your previews!
Much love,
Krista

Alfred + Tiffany : An Exquisite Wedding Downtown Nashville ; Nashville Wedding Photographer
Words really cannot adequately describe how amazing this day was. In my career I have been so blessed to be a part of the most beautiful weddings on this planet. Lately, after each wedding I think to myself... "THIS was the most beautiful wedding I have EVER seen" and I can't fathom that anyone else's wedding could possibly be as beautiful. But every week, y'all never disappoint. And I am pretty sure that THIS wedding was the most beautiful I. have. EVER. seen. :)
Let me begin their story by giving you a little background... Tiffany and Alfred both lost their mother and father respectively to cancer. They both felt very strongly that since their parents could not be with them on their wedding day, they wanted to honor them by making the theme of the wedding breast cancer awareness. Tiffany carefully chose every single detail in this wedding to honor them, from the colors of the bridesmaid dresses, to the breast cancer awareness pins, to the remembrance roses carefully placed in the seats where they would have sat. The ceremony was to be outside, in the middle of a hot Tennessee August afternoon. Normally, the heat in August would have been almost suffocating... but after watching the forecast a few days before, I realized we would have a very unusual cool spell. I have to honestly say in all of the summers I have photographed weddings, I have never seen an August day in Tennessee be so cool and heavenly. I firmly believe mom and dad must have put in a good word for them with the man upstairs :)
Angela Proffitt was their amazing wedding planner, and we were just in awe of how all of the details pulled together so beautifully! From the scrumptious bouquets... to the dapper suits and lovely dresses.. and lush reception decor... it was a feast for the eyes! Tiffany and Alfred were so cute together, they make the most adorable couple. They did a private moment before their ceremony and I just love how their indoor photos turned out! I am pretty sure they both have modeling experience but just didn't want to admit it... They were amazing in front of the camera ;-)
Tiffany and Alfred, I was SO honored to be a part of your day! I am so excited for what the future holds for you two, you make an amazing and classy couple. Thanks for letting us be a part of the day, we hope you love your previews! And I know mom and dad were looking down at you both with such pride and love!
