This may be one of my favorite weddings of all time. Seriously. It is pretty rare that I photograph 2 wedding ceremonies in the same weekend, let alone the same day... for the same couple! Stacey and Moni tied the knot last month with a dual ceremony, honoring both of their religions and backgrounds all in the same day. We started with a traditional Indian ceremony at the Sikh Temple in west Nashville. It was an AMAZING ceremony, completely different than your traditional American ceremony. Moni pulled up in a limousine, and mounted a white horse to start off the procession. For an hour the procession slowly moved up the hill accompanied by rhythmic drums, dancing, and beautiful Indian dresses. After reaching the hilltop temple the hour long ceremony began. Unlike an American ceremony, the bride actually enters first and then the groom. It is followed by four rounds around the middle of the sanctuary, each round having a different significance. The ceremony was amazingly colorful and Stacey made the most beautiful bride, surrounded by all of her bridesmaids dressed in their sarees.
After this ceremony was finished, we headed downtown to start preparing for the Christian ceremony at the Ryman auditorium. It was such a perfect day, Stacey looked gorgeous in her gown and it was a touching moment as dad walked her down the aisle. After this ceremony was over we headed to Lowe's Vanderbilt for one of the most grand and amazing receptions as I have ever witnessed. These two know how to throw a party (well, they have had some practice I imagine... They do own "Mai", one of the hottest nightclubs in town!!) The ballroom looked like something out of a fairytale, it was decorated to absolute perfection and was filled with beautiful people who partied late into the night.
And now... drumroll please... a few previews....
Stacey and Moni, thank you SO much for including us on your big day. It was the most beautiful day and we SO enjoyed sharing all of the moments with you all. I hope you LOVE your photos! -Krista
